News: Baldelli showed more signs that he's going to continue the J.D. Drew career path (unbelievable talent, but can't stay in the lineup) when he left Tuesday's Spring Training game with tightness in his hamstring. This is nothing new. After he'd finally recovered from surgery early last season, his return to the lineup was delayed for another month and a half with (you got it) hamstring problems.
Views: Both Baldelli and manager Joe Maddon claim that he's expected to be ready for Opening Day. However, this lends further fuel to the argument that you'd better have a lot of depth with a guy like Baldelli on your roster. If he stays in the lineup this season, he should be a top twenty outfielder. |
