Starting this week (April 9-April 15), we'll be running a new poll on the board each Sunday morning which will ask who you would like to see. The polls will close on Tuesday (if it's a Monday or Tuesday game, I can go back and watch it) at 11:59 PM.
I've narrowed the field to the five best pitching (projected) pitching matchups of the week that I see in each league. Write-in votes are more than welcome if you see a couple of pitchers that you would rather see reviewed. As this will be broken down in a scouting report format, I want to try to avoid using the same pitchers twice (though their stuff can vary significantly from start to start) all season. The pitchers that we have used already this season are:
Daisuke Matsuzaka
Zack Greinke
There are some amazing matchups coming up this week (I thought I would be going nuts when I saw Hamels and Maine squaring off writing the column earlier tonight, but then noticed that Kamir and Santana will face each other this week... as will Halladay and Bonderman!), so have fun picking what you think the best one will be! |

I'm interested in at least one pitcher in every matchup, but the one that intrigues me the most is Johan vs. Kazmir. Both pitchers are far and away the ace of their staff, and both have the stuff to shut down the other's offense. That's my vote. |

I get a vote of my own, and spent it on Kazmir-Santana. Obviously, we're going to get a chance to profile both starters at some point this season (and probably just about everyone on this list), and it might as well be when they're facing each other.
The other intriguing thing for me (as a lefthander myself) is that this should be a matchup of two absolutely dominant power lefties. Were I choosing the MOTW without everyone's input, this would be the choice hands down. How often do you get two of the top five lefty starters in the game going head to head? |

You gotta go with the 2 lefty fireballers. Very interesting matchup indeed! |

Same as everybody, but suprised that halladay, Bonderman didn't have any votes. That's also a good matchup that interests me. |

I chose Smoltz/Willis. I'm personally more interested in intradivision matchups, and that looked like the best one to me. |

The breakdown of this week's MOTW between Santana and Kazmir should be up Sunday. Kazmir outdueled Santana for a 4-2 win Friday night. |
