Baseball Player News: Aramis Ramirez (3B), CHC

News: The diagnosis on Aramis Ramirez's right wrist is that he has tendinitis and he is listed day-to-day.

Views: The Cubs are not always the most forthcoming with injury information, so let's hope that this is accurate.

Expect Ryan Theriot to continue to get most of the starts while Ramirez is out, especially after his 3-for-5 day with two RBI and two SB.

I think they said on the Cubs pregame show today that it was an injury he sustained during spring training, but for some reason he woke up sore this morning. I might have heard wrong...I had two little boys crawling on me at the time...

Yes, I heard that, too -- I just didn't know how he did it in spring training. Maybe he's not sure, either.

Another update that doesn't really require a new entry:

Ramirez is taking anti-inflammatory medication for the tendinitis in his right wrist, which developed after he jammed his hand on a slide early in spring training.

He hopes to return "soon".

I know this isn't the trade forum but I wanted some input on a trade I've been offered involving Ramirez and his injury is a concern. I've been offered Aramis and Atkins (I could use another good hitter at IF or UT) for AROD and Al Reyes. League is standard + offensive K's, OPS, Holds, and K/BB. Positions are standard except addition of IF spot. 12 teams.

This is actually a trade that I offered earlier in year but got rejected......(keep in mind that I'm unloading offensive K's w/ Arod too...even though he is superhuman right now......and picking up couple of strong bats w/ low k's and who knows how long Reyes will close in Tampa and how many chances he will get. I might not get this chance again but Ramirez is a ?.

What do you guys think?

I like it but I think you could get more for arod. maybe swap one more guy and that will work better for you.

I was going to wait to post until I saw the lineups for today -- but Ramirez was available to pinch-hit yesterday and should start today or tomorrow.

I like the trade, but agree that you should try to get a little more for ARod. Try to upgrade in the OF.
