Baseball Player News: Ken Griffey, Jr (OF), CIN

News: Ken Griffey Jr. tied Harmon Killebrew on the home run list with his 573rd homer Tuesday during the Reds' 8-4 loss to Washington.
Views: Griffey also passed Ernie Banks into 19th place on the career RBI list with a total of 1,637. Next in line for him is Mark McGwire (583 HR) and Tony Perez (1,652 RBI).
Griffey has hit eight of his 10 HR since he was moved into the third spot in the Reds lineup on May 3 and trails only Adam Dunn in HR on the team. He was hitting .277 when he made the switch and has since gone 24-for-70 (.343) to improve his BA to .311. |
