News: Gaudin pitched 7.1 scoreless innings to notch his fourth win of the season. He allowed 5 hits and a walk, while picking up 4 strikeouts.
Views: Before walking Jim Thome in the 7th inning Gaudin had retired 16 straight batters. He got in a jam in the 8th inning when he allowed 3 straight singles to load the bases with 1 out. Jay Marshall relieved Gaudin and got the final 2 outs of the inning, squandering the Sox only true offensive threat of the game and preserving the shutout. |
