News: Rich Harden threw 65 pitches from flat ground on Friday as he continues his rehab from a strain in his pitching shoulder suffered April 15th in his start against the Yankees.
Views: Harden is still weeks away from a possible return. It is being speculated that when Harden does returns he will step in as a reliever, similar to 2005 when he came back from an injury to his pitching shoulder late in the season.

This just in: Harden was allowed to fluff his own pillow today. Assuming he feels no lingering pain in the morning, the A's are considering whether or not they will allow him to pour himself a glass of water next week. Team officials are leaning toward only letting him use a sippy-cup, rather than an actual glass.
No timetable has been set on when Harden can resume playing patty-cake.
