I'm pretty sure I can get Peavy for Martin, Ellsbury, and Francouer. I'd be playing the waivers for catchers every week, but there are guys like Suzuki available right now. I might also be able to snare kemp for bannister or something like that to shore up the OF.

I guess the questions are...does my starting pitching need the upgrade enough that it's worth the hit to my hitters? I mean Peavy is such a beast and pairing him with hamels, gallardo, and kazmir would make for easily the most dominant starters in my league. I know my closers suck too (thank you corpas and soriano) but I hate trading good value for them because they're so volatile.

help?
team in sig.

yeah, I think that is too much for peavy. I wouldn't blame you for doing it, but I couldn't pull the trigger on it.

no, no, no, no, no. as tempting as it is to have peavy or webb or santana, don't ever give up the farm for one of them. it might be nice to have the big upgrade, but in the long haul over the course of the season, your 3 guys will pay off more.

I could understand if you had horrible pitching, but your pitching is rather good, and will be better when kaz comes back.

Im confused.

You guys think trading Ellsbury and Martin for Peavy is too steep? Is this a keeper league? It doesn't appear to be so.

If I am a Peavy owner I wouldn't accept that in return for My stud Pitcher. Ellsbury just is not all that great this season, and Martin, while good is a catcher, and like you said they can be had on the WW without that much of a drop off...

If you did the trade you would need to cut one of your pitchers for another bench hitter though.

It's not a keeper. I can grab Hermida off FA right now and I like his upside. I think Parra needs to go until he can pull it together. I think you guys are underestimating Ellsbury though, what makes you think he can't keep up his pace? He's been solid since he came in the majors last sept... why don't you expect a good year from him? That being said, for Peavy, I'll deal him of course.
