Just heard that on ESPN news, they didn't say who would take his spot but I'd assume Franklin |

for now. I won't be surprised if Chris Perez gets a call soon and moves up.
FWIW, the Cardinals were on the verge of putting Izzy on the DL and calling up Perez today, but changed their minds at the last minute.
I know some Cardinals fans get upset at the fans that boo Izzy, but I don't think the fans or the organization owes anything to him. I still can't believe he wouldn't accept a trade last year. |

They want Perez to get more seasoning. So he'll get a call only if the two guys can't get the job done. |

This is a ridiculous notion. There's no need to handle him with kid gloves. He's ready right now. |

If it was ridiculous, the callup would have happened already.Your version of ready and the one of the team are at odds. |

It should have happened already. He should've made this team out of spring training and let him log innings in the 7th or 8th of games.
It's just absurd that some managers have this notion of a guy not being ready because he's too young. I'm all for the Peter Principle--let the guy prove what he can do until he proves he can't do it. |

Izzy manages to blow another game, this time not as the closer as he gives up four runs in the eighth.
Paging Mr. Perez, Mr. Chris Perez... |
