The latest long-shot rumor I heard...a four team deal:
NYY get Randy Johnson
LA gets Navarro from NYY and Reggie Sanders from STL
ARZ gets Brad Penny, Jeff Suppan, and Dan Haren
STL gets cash, Kevin Brown, and Javier Vasquez (plus the Yanks eating some of the latter two's contracts).
Gotta love these longshot deals. |

I don't know about anybody else I really like St. Louis in that deal. Two quality pitchers in Brown and Vasquez |

Brown= Thumbs down...I hope the Cardinals never look at him, honestly.

I thought that two threads on johnson were enough so here is the revised and done version according to the new york daily news: d-backs also would recieve brandon weeden from the dodger's the yankee's would also recieve ishii from the dodger's and the dodgers are believed to deal vazquez to the white sox for marte garland and konerko in the next two weeks. Late last night green and johnson waived there no-trade clauses with green saying he is scheduled to have a physical in phoenix next week |

Vazquez for marte garland and konerko? I dont see that happening. The sox give up too much. They already had a weak rotation. Where would there fifth starter come from? Their bullpen is already weak and they give up marte with no other reliever in return. Who is gunna play first base? Frank Thomas? 
Not saying that it wont happen but I dont like the deal if I were the sox. |

Ya, I heard this rumor earlier today. It just is insane how much the Yankees are willing to give up for Johnson. I personally think that trading Vazquez would be a bad idea. He has a year under his belt in pitching in New York and has a lot of potential. I guess George doesn't see that though. |
