Vaughn Gone
May 10, 2003
Mo Vaughn is likely out for the year with an arthritic knee with 10-12 bone spurs. This opens up first base for Tony Clark this year and, gasp, Mike Piazza in 2004. The Mets have spoken to Piazza about it, and with Vaughn likely to retire, there is a good chance Piazza will be the 2004 Met 1B.
Met starting pitching has been fabulous of late, but the offense is not backing them up. Jae Seo has really proven himself as a good #4-#5, and is worth a shot against some lower quality teams.
Mike Piazza missed the LA series with a benign mole removed from his abdomen. He is now back in the lineup, albeit withou tmuch protection outside of Cliff Floyd.
Roberto Alomar hit his first homer of the season. He is a bust once again for fantasy owners.
If you have Roger Cedeno, think about quitting your league.
Add: Jae Seo, Ty Wigginton, Cliff Floyd
Drop: Mo Vaugh, Roger Cedeno, Roberto Alomar
