News: After the Cardinals scored four runs in the top half of the ninth inning to apparently give Motte the night off, Mitchell Boggs created a jam for him by allowing the first three runners to reach base. Motte quickly assumed control, striking out Gerardo Parra and inducing a double play off the bat of Willie Bloomquist to notch his sixth save in seven chances.
There's nothing to see here. Motte is a borderline top ten closer who got a save in a five run game. Kudos to him for working out of the bases loaded jam without allowing a single run to score.
