FAQ

How do I install PredictionPro:

• Download the PredictionZip.Zip file to your computer.
  
• Use WinZip and unzip the three files (setup.exe, setup.lst and PredictionPro.CAB). It doesn't matter where you save them to.
  
• Run (double click) the setup.exe file
  
• An installation wizard will pop-up, step through the installation process.
  The program should've been installed into your C:\Programs\PredictionPro directory
  
• After the installation completes, you can run PredictionPro by clicking on
  the Start button on your windows task bar, then selecting Programs and PredictionPro (Start->Programs->PredictionPro)
  

Each week you should download the PredictionZip.Zip file and re-install over the
top of your previous version. Follow the same downloading instructions and replace all the old files with the new ones (install wizard will do this).


Common Problems:


Q: When I install the program the installation halts when attempting to copy system files to my computer.


A: Create a temporary directory, copy the PredictionPro.CAB file to that temporary directory. Next unzip the PredictionPro.CAB file. Manually copy all the .dll and .ocx files that were unzipped to your C:\Windows\System folder. Now run the setup.exe again.



Q: How do I unzip the files.


A: You will need an unzip tool. The best one is WinZip.

Q: I get last weeks results when I run PredictionPro.

A: You didn't install the new version correctly. Make sure you install it over the top of the old version. Make sure you install to the C:\Programs\PredictionPro directory, you can look at the date of the files in that directory to verify if your data files are new or stale.
Names of the data files are:
offense.txt
kickers.txt
defense.txt
schedule.txt

Q: I still get old data.

A: You still didn't install it correctly. You can try to un-install PredictionPro, by going to your windows control panel, and selecting Add/Remove Progams, then selecting PredictionPro and Un-Install. Now run the newly unzipped setup.exe file. See what happens.

Q: Do I need to download PredictionPro each week.


A: Yes, you should. Each week the data files are updated, so you have to download the latest version.

Q: What kind of scoring system does PredictionPro use?


A: It uses the default yahoo scoring system found in all public leagues.

Q: Can I change the scoring system on PredictionPro?


A: Not yet, I am working on that added feature.

Q: In my league we have 2 QBs in our starting lineup. Does PredictionPro allow for any other lineup configurations besides the default standard lineup?


A: You can add up to two additional roster slots to your predicted lineup. From the drop down menu select Tools->Add/Remove Position.

Q: How accurate is PredictionPro


A: On a large scale it is very accurate. On a player by player basis, there will always be breakout games that are unpredictable or injuries or other unpredictable events that happen during the game. Use PredictionPro as a 2nd opinion to your own knowledge. It is very effective at giving you your most efficient starting lineup as possible. It is fun and easy to use, I like using the 'Team Predictor' feature to see how my team stacks up in it's weekly matchup.

Q: How does PredictionPro make it's predictions.


A: Ancient Chinese secret! Seriously, PredictionPro takes into account previous performances, injuries, matchups, position battles and weather into each prediction. All predictions are based on the yahoo default scoring system. The predictions should be used as a guide, and used as something similiar to what vegas casinos call an Over/Under.
