New Update - 3-6-04
March 06, 2004
Jason Giambi leads us off this week. Giambi has slimmed down significantly since last season. He says he's only lost 4 pounds - but it's evident he's lost at least 10-15.
Jim Thome could be out as long as 6-8 weeks. Thome broke the middle finger of his right hand during fielding drills on Friday. X-rays taken on Saturday confirmed that it was broken. He will be out only a couple weeks, unless he needs pins inserted to stabolize the tendon around the area - that will be 6-8 weeks recovery time if that's the case.
Twins centerfielder Torii Hunter sprained his left wrist when he ran into the wall in Friday's exhibition game in Cincinnati. There are certainly better fantasy outfielders. He's not bad - but I'm not sure if I would pick him up over someone else that you may like better.
The New York Mets have been busy with the checkbook. ose Reyes will be moving from his usual position of shortstop over to second-base as he signs a one-year deal with the Mets. Pitchers Jason Anderson and Jose Diaz also sign on for one-year deals. No terms have been discolsed in any contracts.
Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jerry Hairston broke his right ring finger on Thursday in a game against the Marlins. His status for opening day is a bit shady now - he will be out at least 4 weeks.
How much would you pay for a ring that has 228 white diamonds, 13 rubies and a single teal diamond (from Belgium) as the eye of a fish? his ring is deemed "priceless" and the only people that have it are the members of the World Series champion Florida Marlins.
