Who's Better?

DFS Contests

Between Freeman and Olson, for those looking for the best stats today (and for most daily matchups), we generally give the slight edge to Freddie. He's a more consistent hitter and the splits play that out. Possible exceptions to that include when Olson is playing in a day game (.928 OPS vs .821 OPS at night) or when he's going against a pitcher he sees pretty well.

Season-long Rotisserie

Freeman bats in the heart of a better lineup and, overall, has better long-term numbers so there's plenty of reason for his higher draft ranking. Streaks aside, both are perennial all-stars but Freeman is consistently better over the course of a full season and, for good measure, will toss in ~10 steals. The main risk here is injury. Freeman has dealt with a variety of issues over the past year culminating with ankle surgery in Dec 2024. He'll likely be nursing the ankle over the first couple months of the season -- expect a slight drop to his typical numbers during that stretch.
