Who's Better?
DFS Leagues
With Henderson coming into his own in 2023 and building on that momentum in '24, he's as dangerous a shortstop as anyone at this point... Trea included. So, on any given day, their relative SS DFS value is usually top 3. Gunnar is still a young hitter so crafty pitchers, especially lefties, can neutralize him for portions of games. Turner has faced just about everyone and, with his speed, manufactures a ton of real life action and daily league points (SBs, runs, etc).
Roto Leagues
This is a classic matchup of old vs new school. With a lethal combination of speed and power, Turner has perennially been a top ten draft pick for years now. Yeah, he had a down first half with Philly in '23, but after that blip, he's back to elite status. 20 HRs and 30+ with an average near .300 seems like a lock for the next few years. Just wish he'd steal a TON more.
Henderson is more of a wild card. He appears to be the real deal and came out white hot in 2024. His ceiling (ie, power) is considerably higher than Turner's so while he still could be prone to prolonged slumps or injuries, that story has yet to be told. For now, he appears to be an incredibly heady player with all the tools. 2025 drafts will now see him routinely drafted ahead of Turner.
