The Braves will be on the road against the Astros on April 17th. First pitch is set for 2:10 pm ET. At that time, it will be a hot 81° with a steady breeze (12 mph out to left). No chance of rain.

Being a nice day, the roof will probably be open most of the game.

Find out how weather could impact your fantasy baseball success in this game. Introducing our new home run index factor...

HRForce1.7x
Based on wind, humidity, ballpark and other proprietary factors, we currently predict 1.7x (70%) more home runs today compared to the average game. That's a very big impact, expect an extra HR or two. Plan accordingly.

More about Truist Park

If you've every been to Atlanta (especially in the summer), you know exactly why the Hotlanta moniker stuck. It's in the top 3 in average temperature (about 81° F)... but it's a dry heat. It's also in the top 5 in ballpark altitude (1055 ft about sea level). That definitely gives fly balls a few extra feet of carry, year-round. Does that translate into more runs? Surprisingly, not by a lot more. While Truist Park is in the top 10 of runs scored, it sure feels like that rankings should be a few notches higher.

With regard to wind speed, it doesn't really gust much there (the layout and configuration of the stadium generally nullify it). Extra base hits aren't easier to come by in general, that intimidating Braves lineup aside. Bottom line, Truist Park isn't the same launching pad as Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. It plays way more neutral but sure is a nicer place to catch a game and, I'm assuming, play one too.
