The oldest park in the league, Soldier Field originally opened in 1924 and was highly renovated in 2003. Being the windy city, there's plenty of snow and gale-force in the latter part of the season. The stadium and profile of the stands don't really do much to offset those factors. Speaking of which, the orientation of the field itself is approximately 175° from north (azimuth)... meaning it's almost exactly aligned from north to south. The wind tends to whip from east-west, making it much more difficult to throw tight spirals and accurate deep passes.
