Around since 1973, Highmark Stadium is like an old vet. Run down and cranky a times, it can be a temperamental place. Buffalo has some big weather extremes as well -- hot in the fall and freezing cold during the winter. We mean cold... sub-zero temps aren't a rarity. With no roof and its proximity to Lake Erie (one of the Great Lakes), it can get incredibly windy. Not fun to play in that kind of wind chill.

So, when it's late in the season and a major cold front has rolled into town, think twice about starting your offensive guys in Buffalo. All the above will change soon, however, as the Bills are building a new stadium as we speak. It should be ready for the 2026 season and the old Highmark Stadium will be forced into permanent retirement (demolished).
