More about Lucas Oil Stadium
A spacious stadium with a retractable roof and modern artificial turf, Lucas Oil Stadium is a solid place to play and watch a game. Perennially rated a fan favorite, it first opened in 2008 and has stood the test of time quite well. Due to its configuration and acoustics, it doesn't get anywhere near as loud as its predecessor (RCA Dome). So, there's no big home field advantage. Lucas Oil Stadium has a bunch of large windows that, when the time and sun is right, can make catching a high fly a tough task for receivers.
With regard to weather, Indy experiences a huge range of temps -- from high 90s early in the season to freezing cold during the winter. Most of that is nullified with the retractable roof, however. Overall, Lucas Oil Stadium plays fair and balanced throughout the majority of the season.
