Hard Rock Stadium opened in 1987 and is a partially opened field with Bermuda grass. Nearly at sea level, its partial roof helps keep the bright sunlight out of the field of play (and the crowd a bit more comfortable). Partial roof means it's fixed in position. There's some overhang and protection from the elements but it can't close all the way. Those good ol' Miami tropical rainstorms occasionally cause issues but the roof catches most of it. Overall, the playing conditions there are just about average with the Bermuda grass a generally welcomed surface (tends to prevent injury and maximize performance).
