NRG Stadium is a retractable roof stadium that first opened in 2002. It features artificial turf and the city of Houston experiences a very wide range of temperatures. Early in the season, 90s is fairly common. That's bad enough but during the winter, temperatures can get all way down to single digits. Rain is a common deal as well -- Houston see around 50 inches of rain per year.

So, no surprise, the roof is closed for nearly every game. And, when it is, there's basically no weather impact to games played at NRG Stadium (sit/start players based on stats/matchups).
