About Us
FIC was born in January, 2002 as a place for 100% free and comprehensive fantasy news with a local spin. The idea was to mesh the immediacy of breaking local news (discovered either off- or online) with a unique and insightful perspective...the fans'. Thanks to the dedication of a nationwide group of team writers ("FIC Correspondents"), we established ourselves as a leading fantasy news site and the #1 source for local team and player analysis.
At our peak, we had over 50 columnists, team correspondents and reporters giving our thousands of daily visitors a ton of actionable news... often not found elsewhere. We even had one of our site editors, Jim, represent us with full press credentials at an Expos game (yep, we're that old!).
Well, a few years down the road, life happened and unfortunately it proved difficult to keep such a large ship full steam ahead. FIC took a break for a few years but being such a passion project for all of us, I couldn't let it stay dormant.
Re-launched in March 2024, the new FIC will be more streamlined and focused. Initially, we'll be all about custom tools to help you get an edge in your leagues (player comparisons, deep trends, etc). From there, we'll see how we evolve. For now, I'd like to personally thank everyone who helped build and support FIC over the years...
